Scope

The ReconciliationInitiation message can be initiated by any party and received by any party (acquirer, agent or issuer). Reconciliation is the exchange between two interchanging parties (Acquirer, Issuer or Agent) of totals and/or counts of messages within a specific session.

Outline

The ReconciliationInitiationV05 MessageDefinition is composed of 24 MessageBuildingBlocks:

  • Header — Information related to the management of the protocol.
  • Reconciliation Function — Type of reconciliation.
  • Reconciliation Activity Type — A code to indicate the activity type to be reconciled. P000-P999 reserved for private use, N000- N999 reserved for national use.
  • Reconciliation Type — Type of reconciliation. P000-P999 reserved for private use, N000-N999 reserved for national use.
  • Requested Currency — Requested currency by the acceptor. ISO 4217
  • Originator — Information related to the originator.
  • Sender — Information related to the sender.
  • Receiver — Information related to the receiver.
  • Destination — Information related to the destination.
  • Programme — Programme, network, or brand processes the transaction.
  • System Trace Audit Number — Number assigned by a transaction originator to assist in identifying a transaction uniquely. The trace number remains unchanged for all messages within a two-message exchange (for example, request/repeat and response)
  • Transmission Date Time — Date and time expressed in UTC of the message as sent by the initiator.
  • Retrieval Reference Number — A reference supplied by the system retaining the original source information and used to assist in locating that information or a copy thereof.
  • Life Cycle Identification — Transaction lifecycle identification
  • Reconciliation Totals — Totals of the reconciliation.
  • Jurisdiction — Contains information that identifies or is specific to a transaction jurisdiction.
  • Settlement Service — Type of settlement service for specific services requiring settlement.
  • Additional Fee — Fees not included in the transaction amount.
  • Reconciliation — Identification of the reconciliation period between the acquirer and the issuer or their respective agents.
  • Processing Result — Outcome of the processing of the authorisation
  • Protected Data — Contains protected data and the attributes used to protect the data.
  • Private Data — Reserved for private data. The use of this data element is determined by bilateral agreement.
  • National Data — Reserved to define data unique to the country applications.
  • Security Trailer — Trailer of the message containing a MAC
